Hi everyone!

It is my great joy to be the teacher of grades K-3. This is my second year of teaching at Crestview Christian School. I am a mom of five grown-up children and a grandma to five. The happiness of my life has been teaching children about their dear Savior, Jesus. I started teaching in the 1980’s but after having four babies in five years, I decided to stay home for a while! In 2021, I earned my M.Ed. and started teaching K-3 in Garden City, Kansas. But I missed my family in the Pacific Northwest, so we moved back here last year.

I love teaching children to read. To the right, you will see our annual Camp-Read-A-Lot, which takes place two days before Thanksgiving break. Last year my students read 3,745 pages.

The next picture shows the art area where we keep busy with many projects that fit with our theme of the month. Last year, we studied Arctic habitats, pioneers, and different cultures, just to name a few. I love big hands-on projects, and I believe that children learn more when they are engaged and excited about coming to school. All of my first and second graders got 100% on their spelling tests from January to May last year. Each of them scored above average in Math and Reading on their MAPs Test last year. Each of them wrote a five-paragraph essay in May on their favorite bird. Then we made a habitat box, and they painted and decorated it day by day.

Our recess times are actively fun. We love to play on our marvelous playground outside, or on our huge play field. However, when the weather gets cold, we have a beautiful gym for indoor activities such as running, games, and P.E. Our school facilities are beautifully maintained and carefully cleaned.

Enroll today and watch your little student learn to love school and find new best friends in our classroom!

See you soon!
