Why Crestview?

Our Identity

Crestview Christian School is a kindergarten through eighth grade Seventh-day Adventist Christian School in Moses Lake Washington.

Our Mission

It is our mission to equip and challenge each student to reach his or her potential: spiritually, academically, socially, and physically. As a community of parents, students, and teachers, in cooperation with Christ, we seek to learn through scripture and nature God's revelation of Himself. Our greatest desire is to impact our world through a lifestyle of unselfish service to others.

Philosophy of Education

Adventist education seeks to provide academic excellence and uphold our Christian heritage as Seventh-day Adventists. It aims to build faith in God, respect all people, develop character, and encourage independent thinking. It encourages a daily connection with God, promote selfless service and maximize each individual’s potential.

Our Teachers

It is essential that every educator at Crestview Christian School possess a strong foundation in Elementary Education; including denominational and multi-grade certifications to holding at least a bachelor’s degree. We ensure that their credentials are up-to-date, including emergency and safety certifications, and that their commitment to professional growth is unwavering. Our teachers engage in continuous learning and foster collaboration through professional learning communities, ensuring that they remain adept 21st-century educators.

Our educational culture must be rooted in biblical values, with a focus on perpetuating boundless kindness and sharing the love of God. It is crucial that our teachers guide young minds towards Jesus, nurturing their perception of Him as their Creator, Redeemer, and Friend. Teachers and staff dedicate time each week for prayer with and for our students and their families.

It is our objective to tailor instruction for each student, relying on both formal and informal assessments to gauge their progress. Our educators embrace a versatile and inclusive approach to education, centered around comprehending the distinctive learning styles of every child.

Teacher training is essential to positively impact student learning. It is through our teachers’ continuous growth that we can deliver the best outcomes for our students. Their dedication to exploring innovative teaching methods, offering individualized instruction, and empowering students to become self-directed learners is at the core of our educational approach. We invest in our teachers’ skills and knowledge, to ensure that they can inspire purpose, joy, and a strong sense of service in our students.

The World’s Largest Protestant School System

Our school belongs to the largest protestant Christian educational system in the world. The Seventh-day Adventist school system operates 8,200 educational institutions in more than 100 countries with 2 million students worldwide. In North America, that includes more than 1,000 schools with 65,000 students in the United States, Canada, and Bermuda.

Students in Adventist schools outperform. In a three-year study of 51,000+ students in Adventist schools (kindergarten through high school), researchers documented that they outperformed the national average.  At all grade levels. In schools of all sizes. And in all subjects.

Students in Adventist schools overachieve. Additionally, researchers compared student performance on standardized tests with what would be predicted based on their Cognitive Abilities Test scores, and found they performed above what would be predicted.

Students in Adventist schools gain even more with time. One of the most dramatic findings is that students who transferred to Adventist schools saw a marked improvement in test scores. Furthermore, the longer students are in Adventist schools, the better their achievements and abilities.

Crestview Christian School is operated in harmony with the guidance and direction of the Office of Education, North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and is approved by The Washington state board of Education for Private schools and is fully accredited by the Seventh-day Adventist Accrediting Association, through The National Council for Private School Accreditation.
